FTC Partners with Fiber Internet Search Service for Real Estate

FTC has partnered with Fiber Homes, a fiber internet search service, to give people searching for property to buy or rent in its service area a convenient way to determine if fiber is available at a given address.

With nearly 63,000 fiber serviceable addresses, FTC joins more than 150 fiber providers across the country in Fiber Homes’ database of over 7 million certified fiber addresses.

“Reliable broadband internet is no longer optional for homebuyers; it’s become a basic requirement for anyone wanting to fully participate in the modern economy,” said Robert Gilbert, chief executive officer of Fiber Homes. “Our goal with Fiber Homes is to make sure that anyone looking to buy or rent a home has access to this crucial information.”

In today’s world, people need a strong internet connection for distance learning, telemedicine, working from home, ecommerce opportunities, job searches and online applications and streaming for entertainment purposes, just to name a few. Consequently, broadband has become a necessity, not a luxury.

“We entered into this partnership to better equip the agents in our service area with information concerning the availability of fiber,” FTC Public Relations Director Chip Chase said. “When they are working with clients, whether they are looking at residential or business properties, it is important for them to know with confidence that those address points are served by a fiber connection.”

Through Fiber Homes Pro, real estate agents have access to services that deliver a competitive edge. If they are listing agents, they can utilize materials for marketing homes as connected “fiber homes.” If they are buyers’ agents, they get access to products and pricing from FTC for those properties.

Additionally, Fiber Homes is actively working with MLSs around the country to add this crucial information to the property listings. Those in the FTC territory already have access to the service.
